Our monthly theme for June is Funding the Mission, an effort to provide resources, tools, and knowledge to those looking to advance their mission-driven work! Check out some of the highlights from this past Gathering, and see how our attendees found pathways to fund their venture!
To start we heard from Tomy Ames, who is the Director of Research Enabled, a company dedicated to teaching businesses how to expand their outreach to unexpected entities, using Universities as an example. Tomy dove deep into how Universities provide research, assist with grant funding, and what SBIR/STTR’s are & how they can be beneficial to you!
Following Tomy, we hosted virtual office hours with Devon Moody-Graham regarding International Business Resources. Devon is the Chief Solutions Officer at CEOMom Empire, and you might have seen her once or twice at prior Gatherings. She has definitely become a hit amongst our community attendees! Alongside her we hosted a session for Joel Smiley, who is the Founder & CEO of Attracting Resources. He provided clarity into Tax Credits, and how each and every business entity can benefit from workforce credits. It’s safe to say attendees were left with a sense of budgetary competence and fiscal discipline.
Finally we heard from Steph Hermanson, Chief Revenue Officer at Atomic Revenue. She led an insightful discussion into how business owners can turn their current customers into potential lead engines. Some areas of focus she hammered home were Retention, Expansion, & Advocacy!
Thank you for checking out what we call our VenCaf Recap, and a special thank you to our speakers and community members. By the way, if you haven’t heard, Venture Café is returning to Weekly Thursday Gatherings! We are thrilled to continue to support our community, and the endeavors of those within it by providing a space for ideation, collaboration, and innovation. Stay tuned to our newsletter and our social platforms to see what we have in store for you in the future!
