Another Thursday, another gathering down VenCaf Community! We know it was a short week due to the holidays but, that doesn’t stop the amazing programming happening here at Venture Cafe. July is the start of our new monthly thematic programming by the name of What’s Next?! This is a focus on the emerging technologies, industries and resources in our community that maybe don’t get enough spotlight or love, this week was Resources, Research & Recharging Mindsets!
To start we heard from Nathaniel Hudson, the Program Director for Savvy Coders. He came and spoke about the work that Savvy Coders does via their bootcamp and the opportunities that they open up in the coding space with it. From tangible skills, resources and knowledge to secured job opportunities, Nathaniel highlighted why coding as an industry is on the rise and what Savvy Coders can do, to help you enter that space.
Next we heard from Vicki Atlas, Vicki is the President of Inner Power Mindset & Inner Peace Time. These last few years have really rattled and shaken different ecosystems and Vicki spoke to the effect it has caused on many individuals. Her focus was to recenter and refocus the mind so you can take steps now to heal and embrace our new normal. By creating daily practices & prioritizing focus with “intention setting”, you can find a new Inner Power Mindset.
A fan favorite also returned this week, as we had Devon Moody Graham from CEOMom Project return to speak on International Business Resources. Devon had just returned from Paris once again, and I for one for very jealous and interested in her exploits and how she leverages the community she has in Paris to assist in her endeavors stateside.
Finally, we heard from Ellie Hayes, Executive Director over at Missouri Cures. Ellie spoke to the booming and cutting-edge research that is happening right here in St. Louis. Illnesses such as Alzheimer’s Disease, cancer, diabetes, autism, and heart disease are at the top of the priority list for many medical professionals and treatments and cures for them as of top importance. Ellie spoke to how we in the community can help and what therapies are making the best strides.
That’s all I have for you this week VenCaf Community! Thanks for checking back in with us, and we hope to see you next week as we are joining with Pedal The Cause to bring you What’s Next?!: Getting To A World Without Cancer. This will be a jam-packed event focused on and around cancer research and how Pedal The Cause is helping that fight and how YOU can contribute as well! See you there!
