Industry Collaboration is slowly starting to wrap up with only two more weeks under our belts, we are looking forward to what will be coming to Venture Cafe but, before then we have to get into what you might’ve missed this Thursday at our Industry Collaboration: DOD, Technology & Healthcare gathering!
This week we featured Brandon Owens, Full-Stack Java Script Instructor & Mentor for Claim Academy. Brandon came to us last week with a handful of his students and loved Venture Cafe’s mission for our community. So he brought a table and consultant services to any entrepreneurs or business owners that might be looking for his and his student’s talents.
Next, we had one of our regulars host an Office Hour. Carlin Box, Financial Advisor for Country Financial spoke to our attendees about how they can leverage his insight and knowledge to engage in better insurance practices for their venture. At the same time, we heard from David Breville, Chief Technology Office at Integrated Technology Partners. His expertise spoke to the capabilities of small businesses being able to break into the DOD (Department of Defense) field despite not having the resources that might be available to larger corporations.
Finally, we heard from students over at SLU by the name of Aakash Nagarapu, Jasmine Thakkar & Vamsi Marla in a session led by Hayley Johnston. The students were the creators and keystones to MEDLaunch which is a biomedical incubator out of the collaboration between the Saint Louis University Chaifetz School of Business, College of Science and Engineering, College for Public Health and Social Justice, School of Medicine, and School of Law. Their sessions focused on the history of MEDLaunch and it’s capabilities in the larger healthcare space.
That will do it for this week VenCaf Community. We hope that you were able to pick up some pieces of knowledge or insight that you might’ve missed from this Thursday’s Gathering, as usual, keep on the lookout for what we’re featuring in the coming weeks via our website and socials. See you next week!
