It’s the start of our new thematic programming Sustainability & Wellness! All throughout the month of October, we are hosting gatherings to focus on you, your venture & your community, and the well-being of all three. We kicked this idea off with Sustainability & Wellness, Putting People First! Let’s get into what you might’ve missed this week at Venture Cafe.
The first session of the day was hosted by Monique N. Bynum, Managing Director at UMSL Accelerate. She led a session dedicated to and about the UMSL DEI Accelerator Program! Which is an initiative that can net you and your venture over $50,000 in funding. Feel free to click the link HERE to hear more about the program from the Founding Executive Director of UMSL Accelerate, Dan Lauer.
Following that strong start, we heard from Obinno Coley, Business Education Teacher with MoneyMakingMoneyMindset. Obinno had a wealth of knowledge about Crypto & Stocks seeing as those industries are absolutely booming with potential and newcomers, Obinno lent his knowledge to any and all who might’ve been interested in breaking into this field.
Continuing with the theme that October was about, we had the return of Donalee Gastreich, Author & Speaker at Complete Solutions. Donalee came to us earlier in the year and we thought she would be perfect to re-engage with our community during the fall season to really hammer home the idea of Sustainability & Wellness. She spoke about changing your mindset and focus in the face of uncertainty and change.
Last but not least we shined a spotlight on Pam Weston, Author & Senior Communications Leader over at Progress Partners LLC. Pam’s area of focus was utilizing an employee-first frame of thinking for companies and business owners as she has found that, that is the best and most pivotal way to keep employees satisfied and interactive at their place of work!
As you can see, we had a packed schedule for you all this Thursday! Thank you to all the speakers and community members to donate their time to help this Gathering be so great! Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for what you can expect next out of Sustainability & Wellness, until then!
