Happy Halloween everyone! Well we know it's not Halloween yet but, we are close enough that we feel like it's warranted! Despite the festivities being right around the corner, Venture Cafe continued with our final gathering under the Sustainability & Wellness theme that we have planned for October. The final gathering of Preventive Self-Care was a smash hit, so let's get into what you might've missed!

Happy Halloween everyone! Well we know it’s not Halloween yet but, we are close enough that we feel like it’s warranted! Despite the festivities being right around the corner, Venture Cafe continued with our final gathering under the Sustainability & Wellness theme that we have planned for October. The final gathering of Preventive Self-Care was a smash hit, so let’s get into what you might’ve missed!

Starting off this gathering were our friends over at Square One, they hosted Starting From Square One: Kidulting – The Power of Play in Business. This session was all about how play is a critical component of learning and exploration.  Our two speakers, Porscha Anderson of Heartland St. Louis Black Chamber of Commerce & Colleen Mulvihill, Business Counselor & Development Manager highlighted the importance of play and how important it is for our learning, relationships, and culture at work; especially as we continue to heal from the disruption and trauma of the last 3 years.

Following that, we had back-to-back sessions! One, led by Bob & Chrissy Stergos of A Seat At The Table, focused on how A Seat at the Table is helping at-risk 18 to 25-year olds better transition into adulthood by providing residential mentoring and community resources in a Christian family environment. At the same time, we had Amy LemirePresident & CEO of AIM Training & Consulting Inc. talk about her approach to sales, leadership and self-confidence and how that directly translates to client acquisition as well how to keep those tools and ambition whilst not losing your work/life balance.

Stepping into the world of physical health and wellness, our next speaker was Daniel McKee, Founder of Stratfit. Daniel’s goal was to shed light on the technological advancements within the space of health science by taking a historical tour of the development of training science and the development of digital technology.

Lastly, we heard from Clincial Research CoordinatorAlexis Walker. Alexis’s concern was recognizing and identifying the Ten Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s and how attendees can learn about typical age-related changes, common warning signs of Alzheimer’s, how to approach someone about memory concerns, early detection, the benefits of a diagnosis and the diagnostic process, and Alzheimer’s Association resources.

As you can see each and every one of these amazing community members and speakers spoke about how to keep your lifestyle and yourself sustained, healthy, and well. I want to thank each of them for dedicating their time and insight, and sharing them both with our community. For all of those looking on what’s next for Venture Cafe, feel free to check out our website, until next week everyone, Happy Halloween!
