Last week, our last COLLIDE before Summer Break was in full swing, with representatives from the thriving AgTech ecosystems stopping by to let us know how they’re changing the landscape of AgTech here in St. Louis. Let’s get into what you might’ve missed at COLLIDE: AgTech Entrepreneurship!
Kicking us off was Kevin Kercher, leading his own office hour all about Technology Licensing. Patents, know-how licenses, and copyrights can be a confusing and daunting topic at any stage in your business journey however, Kevin made sure to break it down for each and every individual that stopped by his Office Hour.
Following Kevin, Emily Lohse-Busch, the new Executive Director of 39North’s own independent 501(c)(3). Emily educated us all on 39North’s plans for the innovation community and her strategy for bringing those plans to life.
Brandon Day of the Yield Lab Institute also gave his knowledge and insight into how entrepreneurs can work towards a more sustainable world through agrifood systems. He also spoke about the collaborative opportunities with Yield Lab Institute and their framework for helping create the world which they envision.
Finally, our COLLIDE Panel: Agtech Startup — with the likes of Martha Schlicher & Mary Fernandes — kicked off with how navigating the developing world of AgTech and business can be ripe with opportunities, if you know what you’re looking for!
All in all, it was a great way to end our first quarter and as we’ve been reminding you all these last few weeks, Venture Cafe is now on Summer Break! We will keep you up to date each week in July with happenings all around the city but, until then, we will see you all in July! Look forward to the amazing collection of content we will have made with TechSTL.
See you all then!
