Angela started her journey, “into the wild” almost 10 years ago when she had her second son and got her hands on a copy of Richard Louv’s, “Last Child In The Woods”. Instead of relying on TV or electronics to keep her kids occupied, she took them outside. She began to see her backyard and neighborhood with completely new eyes. She began to study the wild things around her, and realized how much fun and learning there was to be had when she was with her kids in nature. That experience lead her to start Wilderkids Urban Forest School in 2017. She’s co-authored a book on local park adventures through Green Spiral Tours, facilitates family foraging workshops, and in 2019 became the Nature-Play Consultant for PLAY-MO, an organization advocating for building a culture of outdoor play in St. Louis
