Creative, passionate, and resilient are just a few words to describe Studio and Event Photographer and NFT (Non-Fungible Tokens) Specialist, Myrina Renaissance Otey-Myton. The University of Missouri-St. Louis graduate was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri.
The year 2019 would turn out to be a transformative one for the photographer from “The Lou.” Myrina discovered the world of NFTs through indirect internet research. By 2021 NFTs began to explode, and Myrina grew right along with the space. She evolved herself into a content expert on NFTs and began to speak as a resource on the subject in the form of her signature workshop – NFTs: Not Just a Buzz Word – eventually becoming the first person to host an NFT Onboarding class in St. Louis. She also began minting her own photographs as NFTs.
Looking towards the future of NFTs, Myrina says, “I see NFTs being more than jpegs and access tokens. I see them providing necessary utility in many sectors while having even greater social impact. I also see NFTs being the new form of currency and trade for artists and businesses.”
Her ultimate goal is to be a master collaborator, world connector, and NFT educator as the space continues to grow, in order to build spaces where community members can learn, implement, and apply NFTs to real life circumstances and events to promote positive financial health for people globally in order to bridge gaps for creators to build on new ideas.
